
Dr Sílvia Aguilar Duran
Dr Silvia Aguilar-Duran is a Consultant Dermatologist working at East Sussex NHS Trust as Skin Cancer Lead and at the internationally renown cancer medical centre, the Royal Marsden Hospital.
After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Barcelona and a post graduate training degree to become a consultant in General Internal Medicine, she relocated to the UK, where she completed her training in Dermatology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Her main professional interest in skin cancer developed after completing a fellowship in Skin Oncology at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London and she is also interested in paediatric and general dermatology.
Dr Aguilar-Duran is the skin cancer lead at ESHT and her interest in Skin Oncology is not limited to the management of patients with skin cancer but also to the cutaneous complications from cancer treatments. She has extensive experience in the management of those conditions in addition to general dermatology. That includes acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. She is also experienced in dermatological surgery and carries out biopsies, removal of moles, skin tags and lumps, in addition to applying other treatments like steroid injections for hair loss or keloid scars and cryotherapy for skin tags.
As well as English, she is able to offer consultations in Spanish and Catalan.
